Nigel Alleyne

Senior Pastor

Nigel was born in Barbados West Indies, sometimes described as the most easterly located island in the Caribbean. His faith journey began in 1968, when as a youngster, only 12, he came to faith in Christ. Since then, forty-three years of being a follower of Jesus Christ has led to many endeavors.

Nigel left Barbados in August of 1979 in pursuit of the call of God. He attended Blue Water Bible College in the United States Virgin Islands, graduating in 1981 with a degree in Theology with special honors. While on the island of St. Thomas he became very active in the local church, which led him to eventually become the pastor of Grace Baptist Church.

In 1982 Nigel was led to move to Lynchburg, VA for further studies. For the next eight years he was engaged in studies out of which he earned a Bachelors of Science, a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Arts degree with concentrations in theology, biblical exegesis, and Greek from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He also pursued Doctoral Studies in Counseling and Psychology from Liberty University.

Nigel has been involved in training Christian workers over the last twenty years.

He has served as an adjunct professor for International Seminary in Plymouth, Florida for eight years. In 1992 he became an adjunct professor for Virginia University of Lynchburg, formally, Virginia Seminary, teaching on the main campus as well as the Danville extension site.

Nigel continues to serve as pastor of Second St. Paul Baptist Church which he has been doing for the past 26 years. In 2008, he started a multi-cultural, multi-racial ministry in Lynchburg, VA called All Nations Community Church.

Along with his pastoral duties at home, Nigel finds time to travel and share the gospel whenever possible. He has traveled to several states preaching the word. He has also visited Nigeria, West Africa and a number of Caribbean islands.

In addition to these responsibilities, Nigel serves as president of the Elpis Center Inc., a center promoting youth programs and activities, and has directed this for 13 years. He is also president of the Altavista Businessman’s Club and former board member of New Covenant Schools, and received the Community Service Award from the NAACP, and was also awarded outstanding teacher of the year from VUL in 1995.

Nigel resides in Lynchburg, VA with his wife Pauline of 30 years and his two daughters, Shirley and Kendra- both recent university graduates. His favorite pastimes are playing ping pong when he finds a partner, going to Smith Mtn. Lake for relaxation, reading and playing his harmonica.

James Mashburn

After helping a friend plant a church in South Denver, the Lord moved James and Sheila to start City Church in Denver’s inner city. They believed the Lord called them to be a church of all colors, cultures, and backgrounds. The Lord blessed the Mashburns with a multi-cultural church and lifelong friends. Joshua Pratt

Discipleship & Education Pastor

Joshua’s walk with God has not been one of instant conversion, but one of pruning, chastening, and growing in abundant grace. Joshua grew up in an absent parent home surrounded by anger, violence, and disrespect for authority. With no father in the home and no Godly leadership, Joshua rebelled, turned to substances, and dropped out of high school. In December 1996 he was arrested for DUI and while intoxicated resisted arrest and was charged with assault on police officers. That incident resulted in Joshua having to go to jail. Even though Joshua had been exposed to Christianity in his youth, it wasn’t until his incarceration Joshua truly pressed into the journey of turning his life over to the care of Jesus Christ. Not perfect by any means, he still wrestled with the attachments, habits, and triggers of who he was.

Through God’s grace, Reverend Pratt became an ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He holds a Political Science degree, BA '98, from Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ and three master’s degrees: Master of Arts Religion '07, Master of Religious Education '08 & Master of Divinity in Leadership '09 from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Joshua has served in ministry as a pastor in Virginia and Arizona. His passion is evangelism and discipleship, and he loves to talk about politics and religion. In politics, he has been a conservative grassroots activist and organizer in over 25 Republican political campaigns in Arizona, Virginia, and Illinois.

Currently, in addition to his duties with All Nations Community Church, Joshua is the Senior Elder of Action Mission, a 508c1a non-profit faith-based ministry. Action Mission exists to restore the greatness of America by propagation of the foundational Judeo/Christian beliefs found in the Holy Bible, the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution of the United States to government. This mission is accomplished by encouraging, equipping, and engaging citizens to serve in their community and raise up, hold accountable, and support Servant Leaders (Christians) towards societal reform to protect individual and parental rights, reduce the administrative state, ease the tax burden on businesses and individuals, and provide to all the equal opportunity to prosper and live free from tyranny.

Dr. Rev. Jerry Falwell said often, “Everything rises and falls on leadership.” Through Joshua’s life he has proved that to be true, from the lack of leadership in his life as a young man to the God filled leadership in his life today, Joshua has demonstrated that in Christ, anyone can overcome any adversity and be a victor in Christ for the Kingdom of God.
